Bailey Du mond, the owner of Lemon Drop was Born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. At just 18 she attended cosmetology school at Gene Juarez in Seattle, Washington, where she cultivated her passion for hairstyling. She then moved to Bend, Oregon in 2010 with her husband, where they began to build their family and her career as a hairstylist. From a young age, Bailey had a deep passion for hairstyling, driven by her desire to make people feel beautiful and confident.
After years of honing her craft as an independent contractor at Lemon Drop Salon, the opportunity to purchase the salon arose in 2020. Seizing this moment, Bailey transformed the space into a vibrant and welcoming salon environment, doubling its size and redefining the client experience. Her vision extends beyond her own success; she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of stylists, providing apprenticeships and mentorship that illuminate the rewarding nature of the beauty industry.
Bailey believes that a supportive and positive salon culture is essential for both her team and clients. “I focus a lot of my energy on my team. A happy salon culture naturally leads to happy clients,” she explains. With this innovative approach to leadership, she has established a long-term career path for her stylists, offering benefits such as retirement plans, 401(k), paid time off, and health insurance—standards that many salons overlook.
Outside of her work behind the chair and managing her business, Bailey cherishes her time with her husband and two daughters. Together, they embrace the great outdoors, exploring and enjoying all that Central Oregon has to offer.
